Launched at Davos 2026, Frontiers Science House came to Dalian for an evening of ideas, conversation, and connection — bringing together leading scientists, tech innovators, and business leaders.

On 24 June 2026, Frontiers Science House hosted an roadshow event during the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, where the conversation on emerging technology moved from theory to impact.

The event opened with a keynote presentation of the Top 10 Emerging Technologies of 2026 — a landmark new report produced by the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with Frontiers, the  world's leading open science publisher. 

From there, two high-level panels explored how these technologies are impacting people and planet: one examining the future of work in an era of rapid automation and AI, the other tackling the urgent questions of climate and sustainability.

Speaking on the success and impact of the Top 10 Emerging Technologies report, Frederick Fenter, Chief Executive Editor of Frontiers, reflects on the importance of science in shaping the conversations that define our future. Looking back at Davos in 2025, Fenter explains why Frontiers Science House was created: science was not participating in key discussions as vigorously and rigorously as it could. The result was a new space designed to put science at the center of the global agenda and back into the conversations with political leaders, business leaders, policy experts, and diplomats. Dalian marks the first stop on the Frontiers Science House roadshow, with further stops planned in UN General Assembly, Falling Walls, and at COP31.
